by Christi Mathis

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Students at Southern Illinois University Carbondale can start the semester off on the right foot at an event designed to help them improve their study skills.

“Empowering Success: Study Smart” is set for 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24.  The Latino Heritage Month planning committee and Multicultural Programs and Services are sponsoring the event in the Illinois Room at the Student Center to encourage not only Latino students but indeed all students to make academic success a priority.

The session will provide information about time management, test taking, note taking and study strategies to help students enhance their academic success.  In addition, participants will learn about campus resources available to them.  For more information, contact Multicultural Programs and Services at 618/453-5714.
