RSO and Volunteerism Fair set for Aug. 25

by Christi Mathis

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- There are literally hundreds of ways for Southern Illinois University Carbondale students to get involved and the RSO and Volunteerism Fair will show you how.

The free program will be Aug. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Student Center Ballrooms.  It’s a chance for students to learn more about the approximately 450 registered student organizations at SIUC as well as community organizations.  Representatives from many of the organizations will be on hand to talk to students and there will also be information about numerous other campus and community groups.

The RSOs at SIUC include publication and media groups, scholastic and professional honorary societies, departmental clubs, special interest groups, sports and recreation clubs, public interest groups, student government groups, fraternities and sororities, religious groups and much more.

Student Involvement and Leadership Development, a unit of Student Life and Intercultural Relations, sponsors the RSO and Volunteerism Fair at the beginning of each semester.
