Leadership seminar open to faculty, staff

by Christi Mathis

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- "Leadership Symphony: Shifting Keys" is a free program on Thursday, July 28, open to all faculty and staff at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. The program from the Center for Workforce Learning and Development is set for 9:30-11:30 a.m. in Rooms 111-112 at the Student Health Center.

Most people have had that experience where they know what they want to say but when they open their mouths, something unintended pops out. This Labor and Employee Relations program by Carol Fisher, workforce learning and development officer, will focus on integrating organizational and personal change strategies essential for ongoing employee development. The workshop will offer information about leadership styles, directive behavior, maintenance behavior, development levels and more, to help managers grow, network and expand relationships.

While there is no cost for the program, organizers ask that those planning to attend visit http://laborrelations.siuc.edu/training/index.html to reserve a seat.
