Housing chefs plan 'Grilling Locally' event
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Chefs from Southern Illinois University Carbondale's University Housing will be serving up specially prepared, homegrown Southern Illinois vegetables during the Carbondale Farmers' Market this Saturday, June 25.
Stop by the market on the Westtown Mall Parking Lot, just west of the Murdale Shopping Center, and watch between 8 a.m. and noon as Chef Bill Connors and Chef Phil Reed prepare an assortment of locally grown veggies in various ways. You can even sample their cuisine hot off the grill.
The University Housing Chefs Grilling Locally event is free and open to the public.
