Three SIUC graduates join Foundation board

by Greg Scott

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Three graduates of Southern Illinois University Carbondale have been elected to the SIU Foundation Board of Directors. Their terms will commence on July 1.

William F. Hartmann, a 1979 graduate, William Lymangood, a 1972 alumnus, and Robert Siracusano, who received his degree from Southern in 1995, are the newest members of the Foundation board.

The board governs the SIU Foundation, an independent organization that provides alumni and friends a means to invest in the University’s future. Established in 1942, the Foundation solicits and administers gifts from private sources in support of the University’s academic mission. Private funding is generated through annual giving, planned giving, major giving, corporate and foundation relations, and campaigns.

“We are pleased to have three highly successful individuals sharing their expertise and knowledge as members of our board of directors,” says Rickey N. McCurry, vice chancellor for institutional advancement and chief executive officer of the SIU Foundation. “They already have been quite supportive of this institution. All three will be tremendous assets to the SIU Foundation.”

Hartmann, an Anna resident, is a financial consultant and vice president for Hilliard Lyons in Marion. He previously served as an investment broker for Wells Fargo and A.G. Edwards and Sons. The business administration alumnus has served as vice president of the Union County Chapter of the SIU Alumni Association since 2005, and is a season ticket holder for Saluki football and basketball.

Hartmann’s wife, Monica, and their two children, are also SIU Carbondale alumni. He and Monica are life members of the SIU Alumni Association.

Also a life member of the SIU Alumni Association, Lymangood is a senior vice president and wealth advisor at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Lisle. Lymangood, who holds a finance degree from Southern, was ranked No. 36 of the top 50 financial advisors in Illinois, according to Barron’s magazine in 2010, and No. 15 in Barron’s list of Top Illinois Advisors in 2009. Barron’s reports that Lymangood handles total assets of approximately $397 million; with typical accounts in the $1 million-$2 million range for clients whose net worth is approximately $3 million-$4 million.

Lymangood has been a member of SIU’s Chicagoland Advisory Council. He is also past president and an active member of the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce. Lymangood and his wife, Barbara, reside in Naperville.

Siracusano is a senior financial advisor and branch manager for Siracusano/Sleezer Group Inc., a branch of Wells Fargo Advisors, located in Naperville. His previous employment includes investment representative for Edward Jones & Co., financial advisor for UBS Financial Services, Inc., and financial advisor for Paine Webber. Siracusano holds a marketing degree from Southern. He was a seven-time All-American diver on the 1- and 3-meter boards, a member of the U.S. Diving National Diving Team for springboard and platform diving through 1996, and was inducted into the SIU Diving Hall of Fame in 2004.

The Merrick, N.Y., native is a member of the Saluki Varsity Club, Marketing Board, and Dean’s External Advisory Board for the College of Business. He has been a speaker to students in business classes and the college’s Saluki Student Investment Fund. A life member of the SIU Alumni Association, Siracusano received the Alumni Achievement Award in 2005, and was inducted into the College of Business Hall of Fame in 2008. The Siracusanos have been recognized by the college as members of its Rehn Society. Siracusano, and his wife, Andrea, live in Aurora with their two children.
