Flags lowered to honor Chicago police officer

Under a proclamation signed by Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn, the United States flag and the Illinois flag are to be at half-staff at all State of Illinois facilities in honor of a Chicago police officer who died after becoming ill while on patrol

Flags are to be flown at half-staff from sunrise Wednesday, May 25, until sunset, Friday, May 27, in honor of Paul Nauden. Nauden, 46, of Chicago, died Friday, May 20, a day after being taken to the hospital complaining of chest pains while on duty, according to reports.

Nauden, a veteran narcotics officer, was with the police department for 21 years, according to reports.
