Easter Buffet planned at Student Center

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Celebrate the arrival of spring and Easter at Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Easter Buffet 2011.

Bring the whole family to the Student Center for the April 24 buffet from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Ballrooms. Everyone is welcome.

The menu features marinated farmhouse salad, fruit and field green salad, potato leek soup and deviled eggs along with entrees of balsamic and brown glazed country ham with pineapple chutney and cider glazed chicken breast with cranberries and raisins. Side dishes include rice pilaf with orzo, parsley creamed potatoes, steamed green beans with caramelized onions and lemon-glazed carrots. Cap it all off with desserts including assorted pastries, cakes and cobblers, cookies, sweets and fresh fruit.

Save money by getting your tickets in advance at the business office on the second floor of the Student Center or by calling 618/453-3478. The office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Advance tickets are $13 for the general public, $12 for SIUC students and senior adults or $6.75 for children age five to 10. Tickets are $1 higher at the door the day of the Easter Buffet. As always, children age four and younger dine free with an adult.
