'Iron Chef' title up for grabs Saturday at SIUC

by Christi Mathis

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- A culinary battle of epic proportions is coming to the Southern Illinois University Carbondale campus Saturday.

Okay, so perhaps epic is a bit of an exaggeration, but nevertheless it will be a heated competition as teams of students battle to become the 2011 SIUC Iron Chef. The contest is set for 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, at the Quigley Hall Auditorium. The University community and public are welcome to come enjoy the contest, modeled after Japan’s famous Iron Chef competition and the popular Food Network television show of the same name.
