Student Center to host Dawg’s Night Out

by Christi Mathis

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Dawg’s Nite Out gives all Southern Illinois University Carbondale students the chance to enjoy an evening of fun, games, entertainment, food, prizes and good times.

All SIUC students are welcome to attend the event set for 8 p.m. to midnight on Friday, March 4, at the Student Center and most things are free with a valid University ID card.

Impressionist Brandon Styles will perform and there will be live music. Caricature artists will be on hand to sketch students or they can pop in the photo booth for a picture. You can win prizes at the exciting casino night or playing the longtime favorite game, bingo. You can also preserve your hand forever by making a wax hand or make personalized sandals at “Flip Flop Fun.” And that’s not all.

You can make your very own street signs, get a henna tattoo and play laser tag. And you won’t want to pass up the chance to play the music video game “Dance Dance Revolution.” You’ll hear a rock band play as well and it all wraps up with a late-night pancake breakfast.

Bowling and Billiards is offering $1 games while McDonald’s has special pricing on drinks and Big Mac value meals, too. Throughout the evening, students can also enjoy a variety of specials at other Student Center businesses including Starbucks, Saluki Sweets and the University Bookstore.

Sponsors for Dawg’s Nite Out are the Student Center, University Housing, Student Programming Council, Residence Hall Association and Pepsi MidAmerica.
