Job fair set for Feb. 23 in Student Center

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- An all-majors job fair at Southern Illinois University Carbondale on Wednesday, Feb. 23, will give students, alumni and interested community members a first-hand look at job opportunities both locally and around the country.

The event, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Center ballrooms, will feature representatives from many potential employers. The job fair typically features 50 to 75 employers. Internships and permanent employment possibilities will be available.

Registration is not necessary and admission is free.

Job seekers should bring multiple copies of their resumes and any other pertinent credentials, and should dress professionally and appropriately. Suggestions for appropriate attire are available on the SIUC Career Services website, http://careerservices.siuc.edu/.

The job fair company attendance list includes Aldi, Ameren, Bridgestone Retail Operations, Cummins, Inc., Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind., Delta Companies, Inc., Drury Hotels, Enterprise Holdings, Inc., Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold in Harrah’s Casino, Illinois Department of Transportation, Land of Lincoln Americorps, Morton Buildings, Paducah and Louisville Railway, Inc., Prairie State Energy Campus, Rive Radio, Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Corp., the United States Navy, and Youth Villages.
