Safe body personalization is topic of workshop

by Christi Mathis

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Safe body personalization is the focus of “Inked,” a free workshop at Southern Illinois University Carbondale on Thursday, Feb. 17. Jason Gillman, assistant director of the Student Health Center-Wellness Center, will present the 6 p.m. session and the public is welcome.

The trend toward more body inking is climbing, particularly among college-age people, but it’s on the upswing with all ages. Gillman will discuss how to get the best looking, unique tattoos to express your personality while staying safe and protected.

The Student Health Center’s Wellness Center is hosting several workshops this spring. For the complete schedule, visit the Student Health Center website at www.shc.siuc.edu or check the Community Health Calendar at www.communityhealthcalendar.siuc.edu. Or, call 618/536-4441 for details about the workshops or the many services the Student Health Center and its Wellness Center offer.
