CESL students to present creative works

by Andrea Hahn

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Students in the Center for English as a Second Language (CESL) at Southern Illinois University Carbondale learn more than the basics of written and spoken English. They also have the opportunity to learn creative expression as they do it.

For the first time, CESL offered creative writing, both poetry and prose, as part of its program this semester. More than 30 students will present their creative works in a reading beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9, in the University Museum auditorium in Faner Hall.

The event is free and open to the public.
