Course to focus on grants, grant-writing

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Finding the funds for research or programs can often be a challenge. Fortunately, there is help available at Southern Illinois University Carbondale for those seeking assistance.

SIUC is offering an introductory course about grants and grant writing Jan. 24-25. This mini-course is appropriate for individuals who want to learn about the process of obtaining grants from government or private organizations. Individuals should be prepared to actively participate in class discussion and to help compose a grant proposal outline.

The instructor for the course is Jo Anne Nast. She has 25 years of experience in grant writing and has obtained numerous grants from national departments and organizations. She retired in 2007 from SIUC’s Office of Research Development and Administration but she continues to work actively with non-profit organizations in grant development and administration.

This course will meet on the SIUC campus in Lawson Hall, Room 221. The class meets 6-9 p.m. Jan. 24 and 25. The cost is $50.
