Ten questions with ... Jill Gebke
Job on campus/department you work in: Director of enrollment management for the College of Business.
How long at SIUC: Two years.
Hometown: Radom
When you were a youngster, what did you want to be when you grew up? An astronaut.
If you could choose another profession, what would it be and why? A psychologist. I enjoyed my psychology undergrad major and the counseling courses in my master’s program.
What was the first “album” you ever bought, and was it an LP, 8-track or CD? It was a cassette tape of Tiffany. It was in the 80’s.
If you could pick an actor/actress to play you in a movie, who would you pick and why? I would choose Sandra Bullock. I don’t see this, but many people tell me I look like her.
What is one random fact about you? I had chicken pox three times.
Cats or dogs? Both.
What is your favorite food and why? Ice cream -- it can make almost any bad situation at least a little better.
What is your pet peeve? Call waiting. I think it is rude when someone ‘clicks over’ to answer another line when you are talking to them.
Favorite cartoon character? Why? Daria. She makes very direct and keen observations about people and situations.
