Gingerich, Rimini earn student employee honors
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Kyle Gingerich of Sullivan and Brian Rimini of Farmersville are the newest recipients of the Student Employee of the Month award from Recreational Sports and Services (RSS) at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
Gingerich, the son of Steve and Karen Gingerich, is a senior majoring in landscape horticulture. He’s a one-year employee of RSS working as a supervisor and official for intramural sports. A December 2010 graduate, he plans a career in the landscape industry.
“Kyle is one of our most responsible supervisors and always willing to do what is best for the team. He will be sorely missed,” said Shane Bennett, assistant director of intramural sports and sports clubs for RSS. He offered praise for the way Gingerich has handled difficult shifts too.
Rimini, the son of Al and Mary Ann Rimini, is a senior elementary education major. Upon graduation, he plans to be a middle school teacher and eventually coach football or baseball at the college level. His duties at RSS, where he’s worked about four months, include manning the reception desk. Colleagues commend him for providing excellent customer service.
“Brian Rimini is a very outgoing and lively reception desk worker. He is always greeting people as they walk in with a smile and is ready to help them with anything they may need. He is a quick learner and has adapted to his responsibilities at the reception desk very well. Brian is a prime example of great customer service,” said Natalie Rosales, facilities graduate assistant with RSS. She noted that this is Rimini’s second nomination for the award.
Recreational Sports and Services at SIUC gives the Employee of the Month awards to recognize outstanding service and effort by student employees. Rimini and Gingerich earned the accolade for November.
