Care packages will help relieve final exam stress
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- A registered student organization at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is giving parents, faculty, staff and friends a chance to give SIUC students a little extra love and stress relief during final exams.
Through the sale of special care packages, the Saluki CEO Corps members will get the opportunity to practice their entrepreneurship skills while helping fellow students prepare for finals. Goodies filling the care packages include energy boosters, stress relievers and healthy snacks.
There are three different Saluki CEO Corps Care Package options. All include study tips, sticky notes, highlighters, fun stress-buster games, hot chocolate, soup, easy macaroni and cheese and other snacks and treats. The cost of the basic package is $20 while larger packages, which include gift cards to local eateries, run $30 and $40.
Check, cash or credit cards are acceptable forms of payment. The order form is online at http://www.innovation.siu.edu/carePkg.html. You can mail order forms and payment to Saluki CEO Corps at 150 E. Pleasant Hill Road, Carbondale, IL 62903 or fax credit card orders to 618/453-5040.
The Saluki CEO Corps will take orders through Monday, Nov. 29. Delivery is free and can be to any location on the SIUC campus. Those placing the orders select the date and time (within a two-hour range) for delivery with all packages going out prior to final exams, which are set for Dec. 13-17.
The mission of the Saluki CEO Corps is “to inform, support and inspire college students to be entrepreneurial and seek opportunity through enterprise creation” and the care package project fits right in with that mission. Faculty advisers are Maryon King, director of the Center for Innovation and associate professor of marketing in the College of Business; Jenni Janssen, assistant director of the Center for Innovation; and Lynn Andersen Lindberg, director of business innovation and research at SIUC.
