Civil Service Council to host trivia night

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Ready to test your knowledge on the ‘70s? How about politics, sports, movies or anything else that is just fun?

It’s time to put the thinking caps on, as the Southern Illinois University Carbondale Civil Service Council will host a trivia night, Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Carbondale Elks Lodge, 270 W. Jackson St. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the event from 7 to 9 p.m.

Proceeds go to the Civil Service Education Assistance Fund. There are no refunds.

Teams of six to eight people will compete for cash prizes ranging from $150 for first place, $75 for second, and $25 for third. Single players will be matched up with a team. The cost is $20 per person; $25 after Friday, Nov. 12.

There will also be a raffle and door prizes available.

Payments in cash, checks and money orders are acceptable. Send checks and money orders, payable to SIUC, to Becky Armstrong, Professional Constituencies Office, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Woody Hall, C-114, Mailcode 4712. Carbondale, IL 62901. Please include your email address and telephone number. Participants will receive a confirmation letter and game rules upon payment.
