Halls of Horror combines scaring with caring
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- You can get your fright on while helping the less fortunate this Halloween season at Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Halls of Horror.
The University community and the public are welcome at the Halls of Horror, set for 7-11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22 at Thompson Point’s University Housing. The chills and thrills begin at Steagall Hall where participants will wind their way through a spooky maze. Next, they’ll move on to Brown Hall for more trembles and terrors.
Organizers suggest the event is probably most appropriate for those ages 12 and older.
Admission is $2 with a canned good or $5 without a canned good. SIUC students can use meal points to get canned goods at Lakeside Express or Eastside Express.
Organizers will donate the canned goods to a local food pantry. The cash admission proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity.
Sponsors of the second annual Halls of Horror are the Residence Hall Association, Thompson Point Area Council, the National Residence Hall Honorary, the College of Engineering and the School of Mortuary Science.
