Media Advisory -- Invention to Venture
Inventors from throughout the region will be attending the Invention to Venture workshop Thursday, Oct. 7, at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and reporters, photographers and news crews are welcome to cover the event. The I2V program is 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dunn-Richmond Economic Development Center, 150 E. Pleasant Hill Road in Carbondale.
More than 50 aspiring inventors and entrepreneurs will attend the workshop, which will feature presentations by successful entrepreneurs about social networking, marketing, protecting ideas, finding money, perfecting business plans, creating successful business pitches and more.
Nathan Stooke, founder of the wireless Internet company Wisper ISP Inc., and SIUC alumnus, will be the keynote speaker.
The fast-paced event is a cooperative effort from the SIUC Technology Transfer Program, College of Business and its Center for Innovation, Southern Illinois Research Park, Saluki CEO Corps and Small Business Incubator Program in conjunction with the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance.
