Flags lowered to honor firefighter
Under a proclamation signed by Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn, the United States flag and the Illinois flag are to be at half-staff at all State of Illinois facilities in honor of an assistant fire chief with the Hindsboro Community Fire Protection District who died earlier this week.
Flags are to be flown at half-staff until sunset, Friday, Oct. 8, in honor of Thomas D. “Tinker Tom” Innes, 61, of Hindsboro. Reports indicate Innes became ill after responding to a medical call in Hindsboro Saturday, Oct. 2, and died Sunday at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
