Media Advisory -- Quinn to Receive TEC Update
Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn will visit the Southern Illinois Airport on Monday, July 19, for a briefing on Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Transportation Education Center. The briefing will begin at approximately 4:15 p.m. at the airport, located between Carbondale and Murphysboro. A media availability with the governor and other participants will follow the briefing.
SIU President Glenn Poshard, other University officials, and representatives of the Capital Development Board, the architect, the general contractor and local labor unions will meet with the governor.
The $43.5 million center will house SIUC’s nationally recognized aviation and automotive programs.
Reporters, photographers and camera crews are welcome to cover the briefing and media availability, which will take place on the second floor of the airport terminal.
