Grant writing courses available this fall

by Ashley McRaven

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Division of Continuing Education at Southern Illinois University Carbondale will once again offer two grant writing courses this fall. The classes are for individuals who wish to learn more about the process of obtaining grants from both governmental and private organizations.

Introduction to Grant Writing provides information about developing grant proposals and includes a brief introduction to writing proposals for grants from foundations and private funding sources. Introduction to Grant Writing is set for 6 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 13-14 in Room 231 of Lawson Hall.

Advanced Grant Development and Administration teaches participants to develop grants that directly impact their institution’s long-range goals and how to administer grants after award. Advanced Grant Development and Administration will take place 6-9 p.m. on Oct. 11-12 at Lawson Hall, Room 231.

Jo Nast, a 25-year grant-writing veteran, will teach the newly updated grant courses this fall.

Registration for each course is $50 and that covers all materials as well as the class. To register, or for more information, contact the Division of Continuing Education at 618/536-7751 or visit the website at https://www.dce.siu.edu/.
