Watson named director of human resources
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Jennifer L. Watson, who has more than 23 years experience in human resources at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, is the department’s new director. Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance Kevin D. Bame announced the appointment.
Watson’s appointment, subject to ratification by the SIU Board of Trustees, was effective June 21.
Watson’s experience in human resources makes her an “excellent choice,” Bame said. Watson served in a managerial capacity within the department for the last nine years, and has a commitment to the future of SIUC and human resources’ role in that future, Bame said.
Watson oversees 37 full-time staff in the human resources and payroll departments. She replaces Kathy Blackwell, who retired.
