SIUC to host two softball camps this summer

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Division of Continuing Education, together with Saluki softball, will offer two camps this summer for girls who want to improve their skills on the field.

Hitting and Defense Camp will be June 14-16 at Sports Blast in Carbondale. From 9 a.m. to noon each day, players in grades 3-12 will receive personalized instruction on hitting and bunting and at their defensive positions through station work and drills. Registrations for Hitting and Defense Camp are due no later than June 11.

Pitching Camp will be July 13-14 at the Student Recreation Center on the SIUC campus. Daily from 1 to 3:30 p.m., campers from grades 2-12 will be get specialized pitch drill work and instruction. The camp features a one to five coach to camper ratio. Registrations for Pitching Camp are due by July 9.

The registration fee is $80 per camp or $150 for both camps. Enrollment is limited. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
