CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Saluki Swim Camp 2010 at Southern Illinois University Carbondale will be July 12-16. The camp, held at the Student Recreation Center swimming pool, runs from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily.

This camp is designed to give campers ages 8-12 the experience and enjoyment of swimming and diving in SIUC’s Olympic-size natatorium. The pool features 10 50-meter swimming lanes, 16 25-yard swimming lanes, eight diving boards and a 16-feet deep diving well.

In addition to swimming and diving, scheduled activities include a pizza party, and weather permitting, canoeing and paddle boating at the campus beach. Also planned are bowling, arts and crafts and billiards at the Student Center.

To participate in this camp, youths need to be able to swim a minimum of 25 yards.

Registration is $195 for participants who register before June 25 or $225 for all registrations received after the early registration deadline. The registration fee includes daily lunches, a souvenir T-shirt and limited camper accident medical coverage.

Saluki Swim Camp is filled on a “first to register” basis and does fill up quickly. Early registration is encouraged due to limited enrollment.
