Operation Bootstrap reunion set for April 27

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- A special Operation Bootstrap reunion is set for Tuesday, April 27, at the Dunn-Richmond Economic Development Center at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

The event will be from 5-7 p.m. at the center, located at 150 E. Pleasant Hill Road. Invited are more than 100 graduates from the first three sessions of Operation Bootstrap, the successful business training program, along with dignitaries and SIUC entrepreneurship and business development staff.

Videos will highlight the success stories of four of the newly launched companies and spotlight the new www.operationbootstrap.bizwebsite. The site incorporates a social networking component along with a graduate directory.

During the evening, breakout groups will address a variety of business development topics including financing, accounting and marketing. In addition, they’ll focus on technical components of launching a company.
