Job on campus/department you work in: Office Support Specialist, Office of Research Development and Administration

 

How long at SIUC: 17 ½ years

 

Hometown: Anna

 

When you were a youngster, what did you want to be when you grew up? An airline attendant, because I wanted to travel.

 

People don’t know that you… My hobby is making jewelry and metalsmithing.

 

If you could choose another profession, what would it be and why? A nurse, because I like to help people.

 

What is something you still want to accomplish in life? I would like to be an accomplished jewelry maker, and watch my grandsons grow up, graduate college, and marry.

 

What was the first “album” you ever bought, and was it an LP, 8-track or CD? LP album of the Ventures.

 

If you could pick an actor/actress to play you in a movie, who would you pick and why? Suzanne Pleshette, she played in movies and TV shows that the whole family could watch.

 

What is one random fact about you? I enjoyed many years of water skiing.

 

What is your favorite food and why? Fried crappie and home made ice cream. My mother made the best custard ice cream around, and now I have her recipe.

Who has inspired you, and how? My father -- he taught me moral values, good character, and you are as good as your word.

 

What would you like your gravestone to say about you? That I made a difference.
