Flags lowered to honor senior parole agent
Under a proclamation signed by Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn, the United States flag and the Illinois flag are to be at half-staff at all State of Illinois facilities in honor of a senior parole agent with the Illinois Department of Corrections who died earlier this week.
Flags are to be flown at half-staff beginning today, Friday, Feb. 19, until sunset, Saturday, Feb. 20, in honor of Ellane Aimiuwu.
Reports say that Aimiuwu, 57, died Sunday, Feb. 7, from injuries received in a four-vehicle accident on Interstate 80 near Mokena.
Aimiuwu worked with the Department of Corrections for 12 years.
