‘Addams Family Affair’ murder mystery is Feb. 12
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- A night of murder and mayhem shared with Morticia, Gomez and the rest of the Addams family and “friends” await those who participate in the upcoming murder mystery theater at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
The Addams Family Affair murder mystery theater is set for Feb. 12 at the Student Center. The evening kicks off with a 7 p.m. dinner in the Renaissance Room.
Norman, a neighbor of the zany Addams family, lies dead at his barbecue pit. Who did the dastardly deed? Morticia is determined to find out and she’s invited a host of well-known murderers to help.
The crime-solving squad includes Norman Bates, Lizzie Borden, Jason Voorhees (yes, think “Friday the 13th”) and even Freddy Krueger. They’ll help Morticia and Gomez sort through the evidence and discover the killer. Of course, “An Addams Family Affair” is interspersed with the romantic escapades of Morticia and Gomez.
One price covers admission to the murder mystery and dinner. The menu for the dinner features cranberry and mandarin spinach salad, chicken with herb crust, mango peach salad, farfalle gazpacho (vegetarian) pasta, steamed fresh vegetable medley, parsley buttered red potatoes, rolls and ice tea, water and coffee. Desserts include chocolate Sacher torte and fresh fruit satay with honey orange syrup.
Tickets are $20 for SIUC students or $30 for the general public. Seating is limited and all ticket sales are only in advance.
