Beck named RSS Leadership Team Member
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Alan M. Beck is the most recent Leadership Team Member of the Month for Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Recreational Sports and Services (RSS).
Beck, of Steeleville, is a senior majoring in kinesiology. He’s a two-year employee of RSS where he works in the Adaptive Inclusive Recreation program and as a personal trainer. The son of Patricia and Wayne T. Reynolds and William H. Beck, Alan is the October award winner.
After completing his bachelor’s degree, Beck plans to attend graduate school in exercise physiology and his goal is to become an exercise physiologist for high-risk and disabled populations.
“Alan is dedicated, responsible, a true professional. An observant fellow, he continually makes wonderful suggestions to improve our facility and service. He is also a great ambassador for the Rec as he works to expand opportunities to student veterans,” said Kathryn L. Hollister, assistant director of special populations for Recreational Sports and Services.
The Leadership Team award goes each month to a member of the RSS leadership team, which is comprised of full-time staff, graduate assistants and student employees. From among the nominations, full-time staff members select the winner for demonstrating leadership and teamwork skills.
