Media Advisory -- Fall Campus Safety Walk
Southern Illinois University Carbondale Chancellor Samuel Goldman and other University officials will participate in the annual Fall Campus Safety Walk on Tuesday, Oct. 13. Campus officials will meet in front of the Student Center at 7:30 p.m. and break into five groups to tour campus and spot areas for possible safety improvements.Reporters, photographers and camera crews should arrive at 7:15 p.m. for interviews, and may join one of the tours. Numerous faculty, staff and student constituency groups are invited to participate in the tours. The groups will focus on academic areas in this tour, said Todd D. Sigler, director of SIUC’s Department of Public Safety.
Among the areas that groups will look at are foliage and lighting improvement needs, Sigler said.
