SIUC offers Web site development classes

by Ashley McRaven

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- If you’re interested in Web site development and management, whether for personal or professional reasons, the Division of Continuing Education at Southern Illinois University Carbondale has just what you’re looking for.

Two courses are available this fall. “Hands On With Dreamweaver” gives participants hands-on experience using the Adobe Dreamweaver interface along with many other tools, making Web authoring more manageable. You’ll learn how to create clean, professional Web pages adding text, images, links and more as you publish your own Web site on the World Wide Web.

This course meets from 5-7 p.m. each Tuesday, Sept. 1-22, in Room 1024 of SIUC’s Faner Hall.

“Rapid Website Development with Joomla!” will give participants hands-on experience working with extensions, modules and templates so they can get a Web site up and running in a matter of hours rather than weeks or months. The class meets twice weekly with one evening of instruction and the other for lab work. The course meets 5-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 27-Nov. 19 in Room 1024 at Faner Hall.

Registration is $75 for each course. To sign up, or for more information contact the Division of Continuing Education at 618/536-7751 or visit the Web site at https://www.dce.siu.edu.
