Student Center to host Mother’s Day Brunch

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Mother’s Day Brunch at Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Student Center is a flavorful way to honor and celebrate the women in your life.

The brunch is from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 10 in the Student Center Ballrooms.

The meal begins with artichoke Italian salad with Parmesan vinaigrette, homemade sweet pickles and broccoli, apple and raisin salad. The menu also features cranberry glazed ham, roasted baron of beef, fried chicken “drummies,” country scramble, butter-whipped potatoes with milk gravy, green beans with caramelized onion and bacon and steamed vegetable medley. Topping off the brunch are the desserts: lemon torte, fruit cobbler, chocolate and raspberry mousse, assorted cookies and fresh fruit. Also included are dinner rolls and butter, orange juice, iced tea and coffee.

Advance tickets are $6.50 for children ages 5-10, $11.50 for SIUC students and seniors and $12.50 for the general public. At the door, tickets are $1 more. Kids age four and under dine free.
