CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Saluki Swim Camp 2009 is June 22-26 at Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Student Recreation Center.

The camp gives children ages 8-12 the chance to experience the enjoyment of swimming and diving in the University’s Olympic-size pool. The natatorium features 10, 50-meter swimming lanes; 16, 25-yard swimming lanes; eight diving boards; and a 16-foot deep diving well. In addition to swimming and diving, camp participants will enjoy a pizza party, canoeing and paddle boating at campus lake and bowling, billiards and arts and crafts at the Student Center.

The camp runs from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Registration is $195 for those signing up before June 8 or $225 after the early registration deadline. The registration fee covers daily lunches, a souvenir T-shirt and limited camper medical accident coverage.

Enrollment is limited and often fills up quickly on a first-come basis, so early registration is suggested. To register, or for more information, contact the Division of Continuing Education at 618/536-7751 or visit the Web site at https://www.dce.siu.edu.
