Easter buffet is April 12 at Student Center

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Dinner and music will usher in spring at Southern Illinois University Carbondale Student Center’s 7th Annual Easter Buffet Sunday, April 12. The buffet is from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the ballrooms. Along with a full menu of Easter-worthy taste treats, those attending will enjoy special music by pianist Bill Shotton.

The menu features potato leek soup, ambrosia salad, green salad and orange fluff with entrees of roast baron of beef and apricot rubbed pork loin. Side dishes include candied yams, butter-whipped mashed potatoes with gravy, steamed broccoli and buttered corn along with staples including dinner rolls, iced tea and coffee. And what would a buffet be without desserts? The offerings include black forest cake, pudding, fresh fruit, and assorted pastries and cookies.

You can get tickets now at the Central Ticket Office on the second floor of the Student Center or by calling 618/453-3478 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. In advance, tickets are $12.50 for the general public, $11.50 for SIUC students and senior citizens and $6.50 for children ages 5-10. Tickets are $1 more at the door the day of the buffet. Children age four and younger dine free.
