Surplus Gallery hosts C4 Juried Show, other events
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Third Annual C4 Juried Show returns to the Surplus Gallery at Southern Illinois University Carbondale this month, featuring Robert Sill, assistant director of art at the Illinois State Museum, as juror.
This juried show is open to University students and the area community. If the opportunity to put artwork in front of a discerning audience isn’t enough of a lure for University and community artists, then perhaps the $500 in awards in three categories will be.
To enter, download a form at http://tinyurl.com/C4entryform, or pick up a form at the School of Art and Design offices in the Allyn Building on campus. The art drop-off is at the Surplus Gallery from noon to 6 p.m. Feb. 22, and artists may enter at that time, as well. Entry is $20 for up to three entries, $5 per entry for each entry after that. The show is open to all media.
The C4 Show runs Feb. 25-27, with a closing reception at 7 p.m. on Feb. 27.
The C4 Juried Show is just one of a full season of events happening at the Surplus Gallery. Other highlights include the Love at the Glove event, the annual Rickert Ziebold competitive scholarship show, and a variety of master and bachelor of fine arts shows.
