Police investigating theft of computers

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale police are investigating a burglary in which thieves got away with 13 iMac desktop computers.

The computers were taken from a College of Liberal Arts computer laboratory on the first floor of Faner Hall between 5 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. today (Dec. 18). Both the building and laboratory were locked; access was gained by breaking an outside window and then a laboratory window.

The computers are valued at about $1,300 each.

Anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious, or has any information about the burglary, should call Carbondale Crimestoppers at 549-COPS, or the SIUC Department of Public Safety at 453-3771.
