Business college hires Rhoads for marketing post
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Meredith Rhoads is the new chief marketing officer for the Southern Illinois University Carbondale College of Business. She began working in her new position on Nov. 3.
“We look forward to Meredith’s contributions to the execution of our strategic plan,” said Dennis Cradit, dean of the College of Business. “Her duties will include promoting the college, working with faculty and staff on recruitment and retention and being a key liaison between the college and student and alumni groups. Her practical experience and dedication to the University will serve us well.”
Prior to assuming this position, Rhoads had served as executive director of the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce since February 2007. While at the chamber, Rhoads worked with businesses and organizations from across the region to promote local business growth and support economic development efforts. She also served on several local boards and committees, further strengthening her ties to Southern Illinois.
“Under the leadership of Dean Dennis Cradit and through the work of my predecessor, Sun Min, much has been accomplished at the College of Business during the last two years,” Rhoads said. “I intend to sustain the momentum of growth and progress through communication with all of our stakeholders and by presenting a compelling image of the college.”
Rhoads is a two-degree alumna of SIUC’s College of Business. She earned a bachelor of science degree in marketing in 2005 and a master’s of business and administration in December 2006.
