by Christi Mathis

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- John Fraedrich, the James J. Jannetides professor of business ethics in Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s College of Business, will take his expertise on the road once again later this month. He will present “What Students Need to Know About Business Ethics” at 3:30 p.m., Oct. 16, at Memorial Auditorium at Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pa.

He’ll discuss what business ethics is, what triggers the ethical decision process, why great leaders also make great cell mates, what signals mark a bad company, and why you can’t change the system in your first job. Fraedrich holds a bachelor’s in management from Brigham Young University and earned his master’s and doctoral degrees in marketing at Texas A & M University.

A Wisconsin native, he’s written more than 50 books, articles and other works, predominately regarding ethics and values. He’s also spoken in forums around the globe, including Asia, Eastern Europe and other locales and been a consultant for executives stateside and internationally.
