CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Donna Margolis, director of career services and placement at Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s College of Business, has been named assistant dean of student affairs.

“I’m honored to be chosen for this role,” said Margolis. “My first priority has always been the students and I look forward to implementing initiatives that should tremendously improve the college experience for them.”

In the new role, Margolis will continue to serve as career services and placement director but will also oversee all aspects of undergraduate student services at the business college, including academic advisement, career services, enrollment management and minority affairs.

“Donna Margolis is a highly energetic and effective leader,” Dean J. Dennis Cradit said. “Under her leadership, business students will continue to receive premier student services and even more, Donna will take the college to the next level in terms of customer service.”

Margolis joined SIUC in 2000 as an academic adviser. In 2005, the University honored Margolis with the Excellence Through Commitment Award, given to faculty and staff whose dedication to academic excellence enhances the SIUC community. The College of Business honored Margolis with the Outstanding Service Award in 2003.
