September 10, 2008 Flags to fly at half-staff in honor of Patriot Day Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich issued a proclamation that the United States and Illinois flags be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Thursday, Sept. 11, in honor of Patriot Day.
