Wham building is without air conditioning

by Tom Woolf

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Wham Education Building at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is without air conditioning, and while business continues as usual, some services may be relocated.

Wham’s basement houses key computer functions for the University, but that area is unaffected, as it is on a separate air conditioning system.

Headquarters for the College of Education and Human Services, Wham also houses the dean’s office; the departments of Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Psychology and Special Education; and the Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Preparations for the new school year, which begins Aug. 18, are continuing, including the admissions process for students in the college.

Repairs to the air conditioning system should be complete by the end of this week. People who use any of the services in Wham should call first.
