CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Effective July 1, the SIU Alumni Association Board of Directors has a new president, Randy Ragan of Springfield.

“I am proud and honored to serve as the president of the SIU Alumni Association. Like so many others, I am a first-generation graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and the University has played such an important role in my life,” he said.

As a double-degree graduate from SIUC, Ragan has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting (1967) and a Master of Business Administration degree (1968). He currently resides with his wife Donna in Springfield, and is a certified public accountant and partner at McGladrey and Pullen.

In 1990, Ragan was inducted into the College of Business Hall of Fame. He also served on the School of Accountancy Board of Advisors. As board president, Ragan will lead a team of directors throughout the state and nation. The 39-member national board governs programs, activities and services of the SIU Alumni Association.

The SIU Alumni Association also welcomes board members N. Lee Beneze (1985), Winston Calvert (2002), Todd Martin, DDS, and Benjamin Weinberger (2001), who will all serve on the national board for the first time.
