Crab Orchard review grabs ‘Literary Spotlight’
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Crab Orchard Review, the literary journal published by the Department of English at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, is in the “Literary Spotlight” of The Writer Magazine’s July 2008 issue.
The “Literary Spotlight” is a regular department in the journal. Contributing editor Melissa Hart highlighted the personal touch Crab Orchard Review editors give to each manuscript, noting that, while form rejection slips may be the norm at many journals and magazines, personal letters are standard communication at Crab Orchard Review.
Hart quotes SIUC’s Jon Tribble, the managing editor, discussing the balance in the journal between established writers and first-timers and the optimism with which he approaches the hundreds of manuscripts the journal receives.
The Writer Magazine is a nationally circulated professional journal for creative writers.
