Association honors 25 Distinguished Seniors

CARBONDALE, Ill. --The Southern Illinois University Alumni Association and Student Alumni Council on the Carbondale campus recently recognized 25 outstanding SIUC students with Distinguished Senior Awards at the annual spring Super Student Honors Dinner.

The Distinguished Senior Award goes annually to 25 SIUC students. To qualify for the honor, graduating seniors must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and have contributed to the University and Carbondale communities. They must also provide letters of recommendation and answer two essay questions.

The Office of the Chancellor, the SIU Alumni Association and the Student Alumni Council host the Super Student Honors Dinner. The 25 Distinguished Senior students receive recognition plaques, Saluki “puppy” statutes, SIUC license plate frames, SIU alumni T-shirts and a first-year membership in the SIU Alumni Association.
