Student Center again offers 'McBowling'

by Christi Mathis

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- McBowling was such a hit in its debut last year that it is back for summer 2008 at Southern Illinois University Carbondale's Student Center Bowling and Billiards.

Participants in McBowling pay $8 per day and enjoy unlimited bowling and billiards, shoe rental, and their choice of several medium McDonald’s value meals. The program runs from 2 to 4:30 p.m. daily Monday through Friday through July 11.

SIUC Student Center Bowling and Billiards and the Student Center McDonald’s sponsor McBowling. The offer is valid only at the SIUC Student Center.

Bowlers can shoot for strikes at the 16-lane facility featuring electronic scoring, glow-in-the-dark flooring, flat screen televisions and drop-down screens. Each lane has bumpers and the center offers IKAN Bowler ramps, a device that attaches to all types of wheelchairs, allowing users to control the speed, direction and timing of the bowling ball release. Nearby are a dozen Oldhausen pool tables and a satellite-enabled jukebox.

The Student Center Bowling and Billiards is family friendly, alcohol-free facility that also offers birthday party packages, complete facility rental and more. For more information about McBowling, tournaments, special events, group rates and anything you want to find out about the facility, visit the Web site at www.siucstudentcenter.org or call 618/453-2803.
