Student Center to host murder mystery dinner

by Christi Mathis

CARBONDALE, Ill. — Whodunit? That's the question at "The Dapper Flapper," a murder mystery dinner coming Feb. 8 to Southern Illinois University Carbondale's Student Center Renaissance Room.

The participatory murder mystery event begins at 7 p.m. and features roles in an exciting 20's era murder mystery for a number of those in attendance.

The evening's menu includes such fare as "the heist," better known as peppercorn flank stank, and "Bonnie and Clyde," otherwise called roast chicken and spinach cannelloni. Rounding out the bill of fare, by their common monikers, are Caesar salad, creamed red potatoes, brown sugar glazed carrots, grilled vegetables brushed with basil oil, crusty rolls, rice pudding, assorted chiffon and fruit pies and ice tea, water and coffee.

Admission is $20 per person for SIUC students and $30 for the general public. Tickets are limited and sold only in advance, as long as they last, at the SIUC Student Center ticket office. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Sales are non-refundable and there won't be any tickets at the door.

The Student Center Special Programs and Center Events and Student Center Dining Services are sponsoring "The Dapper Flapper." For more information about the event or tickets call 618/453-3478.
