CARBONDALE, Ill. — It's the one day in life when you most definitely want everything to go just right. It's your wedding day and a weekend event at Southern Illinois University Carbondale could just be the ticket to dreamy nuptials.

The 17th Annual Bridal Extravaganza is coming to the SIUC Student Center Ballrooms Sunday, Jan. 27, from noon until 4 p.m. The event culminates with a 3 p.m. fashion show featuring the latest in bridal gowns, tuxedos and even apparel for the mother of the bride.

Vendors from all over Southern Illinois and surrounding states will be on hand at the Bridal Extravaganza, answering questions, displaying their wares and offering their expertise about all aspects of creating a memorable wedding. Brides and grooms-to-be will find featured at the show photographers and videographers, wedding planners, disc jockeys, caterers, and countless other professionals offering ideas and help planning their special day. Specialty booths will abound too featuring flower preservation, fine china, and more.

A pair of special presentations is also set for the 2008 bridal show. Nathan Spiegel, for Edward Jones, will discuss financial planning at 1 p.m., while attorney Judith A. Ray will offer legal advice at 2 p.m.

Admission to the SIUC Bridal Extravaganza is $3 per person and covers all aspects of the show. There also will be drawings for free giveaways.
