Treviño to brief Faculty Senate on review process
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale Chancellor Fernando M. Treviño on Tuesday, Sept. 11, will brief members of the SIUC Faculty Senate about his plans to review the anonymous allegations of plagiarism made against SIU President Glenn Poshard.
"The most appropriate course of action for this matter is a review process, led by the senior leadership of our academy, consistent with our campus policy on academic integrity," Treviño stated. On Thursday, Sept. 6, Treviño outlined his plan to the school's Graduate Council, which unanimously endorsed the concept.
Treviño will announce the members of the committee, which will include a cross-section of the University's academic community, before the end of the week.
" I am fully confident that this committee will make any necessary recommendations consistent with the highest academic standards of this institution," Treviño concluded.
The committee is expected to report to Treviño before the end of the month.
