Seminar for dental professionals set for Oct. 5

CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Dental Hygiene Program at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is sponsoring a one-day seminar for dental professions Oct. 5. Set for the SIUC Student Center Auditorium, the seminar will focus on dental care for people with special needs.

Speakers include Dr. Jack Dillenberg and Dr. Maureen Munnelly Romer. Dillenberg is the inaugural dean of the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health at A.T. Still University in Mesa, Ariz. He will speak about creating a dental home for people with special needs.

Romer is associate professor and director of special care dentistry at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. She'll present practical approaches to special care dentistry.

The seminar will run from 8 a.m. until 4:45 p.m. and registration is required by Sept. 28. The cost is $90 for professionals or $40 for full-time students or 2007 SIUC dental hygiene program graduates. Registration is limited and on a first-come basis.
